Al-Kadhimiya Mosque

The Al-Kadhimiya Mosque is a shrine complex in Baghdad, Iraq. It contains the tombs of two Imamah, the religious, spiritual and political leadership of the Shia Islam doctrine. Also buried within this mosque are two famous historical scholars.
The stamp on the postcard is even special. 2011 is an important year for Iraqi people, it marks the official ending of the Iraq War and the last US troops exited through the Kuwait border at the end of this year. Since then, the history during which the Americans had administered the country ended. In 2012, the Ministry of Communications of Iraq issued two stamps to commemorate the event under title “The 1st Anniversary of the Evacuation of the Coalition Authority”.
Many thanks to Corona (nick name by me)! I hope you are doing well in Baghdad!
