Dubrovnik is called the “Pearl of the Adriatic”.
Located in south Croatia along the coast, it is one of the most prominent tourist
destinations in the Mediterranean. Historically, the city was a free and independent
state called “Republic of Ragusa” until the French incursion in 1808. Due to
the successfully management of preserving its beautiful Gothic, Renaissance and
Baroque churches, monasteries, the old city of Dubrovnik was inscribed on the
UNESCO World Heritage Sites list in 1979. I am very happy to have this
beautiful postcard for my collection which shows a bird's-eye view of the walled
old city and the beautiful Adriatic Sea. Thank you very much Bruno for it and also
the great words you wrote, much appreciated!
